Learn the history of finger cymbals, different techniques and sounds to enhance your dancing. Gain insight on appropriate times to play the finger cymbals and when to pause, when to interact with the drummer and when to be the spot light. One, two, three or four - bring both excitement and balance into your life with thrilling sword work sure to please any audience.  From beginners to working professionals, there is something in this workshop for everyone - from selecting the best music to wow your audience to making difficult sword techniques easy to add to your repertoire.  No question to bold...bring what you want to work on and we'll sharpen our skills! Multiple swords encouraged.... Traveling with a sword is permissible as long as you check it on with your baggage.  Balance ready swords are available for practice and purchase in this class.

"Rhythm of the Night: Understanding, and dancing to Middle Eastern rhythms" with Talia Soleil and Issam Houshan

Ancient Middle Eastern melodies are known for drawing us out of our seats to dance. Issam will teach why the structure of the rhythms are important to Middle Eastern music, and why they call us to dance. Understanding these rhythms allows dancers to move from emotions, and truly feel a connection with the music. Practice short dance combinations with Talia that accentuate the music and give dancers a way to approach and relate to these rhythms with joy. Ideal for dancers of all styles and levels.
